BRA MATTERS

Bras are an important and essential matter. Surveys and studies over the years have revealed that millions of women across the globe are wearing the wrong type and or size of bra. It’s important to develop an understanding of why wearing the right bra matters for you.

The primary purpose for wearing a bra is to support the breasts, reduce breast motion and hold the breasts in place.

Not wearing the right bra can actually cause neck and shoulder pain, poor posture, and rubbing and chaffing leading to skin abrasions, especially for larger breasted women. Other issues include breast pain, headaches, painful shoulder grooves, sagging breasts and breathing problems. When a bra fits properly, it allows you to feel more comfortable with no pinching or pain.

FIT MATTERS

Women will agree with how uncomfortable the wrong fitting bra can be. If you dread putting on your bra or if you spend all day tugging at your bra, chances are...the bra isn’t the right fit for you. You will love what the right fitting bra can do for you. Be ready for what the day brings in the right fitting bra.

Here is how your bra should fit.

The band should be level and sit smoothly around your body to provide the needed support.
Your breasts should be supported securely and comfortably within the cups.
The straps need to be firm so that they don’t slip off your shoulders, but not so tight that they dig in.

Note the band should offer 80% of the support while the straps offer 20% of the support.

Fasten new bras on the loosest hooks to allow for some stretch as the fabric and elastic wears over time, may need to adjust to tighter hooks as time goes on.

SIZE MATTERS

Note bra sizing tip: Not too tight! You should be able to easily fit a finger between the band and your body.
